Sustainable progress needs more than a strategy document.
The strongest sustainability initiatives align four things: organisational priorities, technical evidence, investment logic and disciplined execution. When any one of these is missing, projects slow down or lose value. Starbeam brings them together—giving decision-makers a clearer route from intention to measurable performance.
Our identity takes inspiration from Botswana’s water, light and landscape. The delta-star represents a source becoming a system: strategy branching into engineering, finance and delivery, then converging in long-term value. It is a symbol of practical transformation and a reminder that sustainable growth must be designed for its context.
A Botswana and African economy where sustainable growth is technically sound, financeable and built to last.
To help organisations design and deliver sustainability and energy projects that improve performance, reduce risk and create measurable long-term value.
Taboka Motlhabane, Founder
Taboka Motlhabane is an energy and sustainability professional with more than eight years of experience across renewable energy project development, climate and renewable energy finance, energy audits, green buildings, technical risk, policy and stakeholder engagement. The experience spans government, donor and private-sector environments in Botswana and Sub-Saharan Africa, including the pre-development of renewable energy opportunities and support to companies seeking green project finance.
What the experience actually consists of.
Renewable pipeline
Pre-development work on more than 60 solar, biogas and process-heat opportunities: screening sites and loads, sizing options against real consumption data, testing them for technical and permitting constraints, and carrying the ones that survived into early development. Around 30.2 MW of potential capacity reached that stage.
Green project finance
Support to more than 15 companies preparing projects for green finance — identifying eligible measures, assembling the technical evidence lenders ask for, and aligning project information with what finance providers need to see. Advisory involvement spans €6.5 million of green investment capacity.
Efficiency in operation
Energy audits paired with training and behaviour-change work, because efficiency measures underperform when the people running the plant were not part of the decision.
